Katie in New Docudrama?

I found a very recent article about a new five-part docudrama being made for Channel 4 about Queen Elizabeth II at different stages in her life. Katie is set to play her sister, Princess Margaret. You can read the article here. The series will air this summer on Channel 4 and on the ABC network in North America. I am really glad Katie is getting more roles!

Samantha Bond, who starred as Miss Moneypenny in the Bond movies, and Lisa Dillon, who recently appeared in the BBC1 costume drama Cranford, are the first two actors cast as the Queen, with The Tudors’ Katie McGrath billed to play a young Princess Margaret, the Queen’s sister.

Irish Times: My Style

Thank you to “Guest” for sending a link to a new Irish Times article about Katie. The article is from yesterday and in it Katie talks about her fashion. You can read the entire thing here. As well, I put the lovely picture that came with it in the gallery.

WHAT’S THE MOST YOU’VE EVER SPENT? This Balenciaga bag, which I bought in Paris with my first pay cheque, and it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought. It fits scripts inside, as well as being so simple. My mother bought the Hermès scarf (that’s on it) in Paris.

DO YOU LIKE SHOPPING? I hate shopping. I shop like a man. I can manage when I have to get something specific, but I can’t do aimless wandering around stores.

DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE It’s very relaxed. I wear what’s comfortable and I don’t like looking overstyled. I wear a lot of cashmere and very skinny jeans with loose tops because I like the contrast. I don’t like to look fitted all over, but to balance it out.

Merlin Interview

First of all, thank you to Annika for finding and donating more pictures from the Save Tara event. There are nine new pictures of Katie and Jonathan in the gallery.

Katie appears about 8-9 minutes in! I made screen captures for the gallery. Event Candids from 2007

After searching JustJared, I found pictures of Katie with Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Henry VIII on The Tudors) at a Save Tara! event in Ireland in September 2007. Katie is referred to as the “mystery brunette girlfriend.” Don’t get too excited, though. JRM, I believe, has a girlfriend, and Katie was part of the Tudors crew!

Irish actor hotties Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Stuart Townsend help protest the M3 motorway from being constructed near the historic Hill of Tara on Sunday. 1,000 protesters formed the shape of an Irish harp on top of the hill for an aerial photograph. At the same time, protests were held in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.

“Tara Hill, which is the centerpiece of a large archaeological landscape with hundreds of significant sites, is the ceremonial and mythical capital of Ireland,” said Bonnie Burnham, the president of the World Monuments Fund (WMF).

It looks like JRM brought along a new mystery brunette girlfriend!

In the meantime, she’s still coming to terms with her newfound success. “My uncle called me up recently and said ‘Katie, I have a favour to ask.’ It turns out my little 10-year-old cousin is the biggest Merlin fan. So my uncle said, ‘Is there any way you could come over for dinner?’ So I said, ‘Of course’, and turned up and my cousin was just speechless with excitement. And then she was asking me all these questions about the show. It was like Christmas morning for her. It was really sweet, but at the same time, it was really strange. I was like, ‘I’m only your cousin!’ And at the end of the day, it’s just a job!”
