Hello, everyone! Thank you to mata of Lovely Liv Tyler for finding outtakes from the Arena photoshoot! I replaced the old 5 photos with these ones. There are 17 new pictures and 3 HQ versions. Click on the thumbnails to go to the gallery!
Thank you to Alison for recognizing Katie in a promotional photoshoot for The Tudors, where she is standing behind the handsome Henry Cavill! I snagged the two pictures with her from Admiring Natalie Dormer. Since she worked in the costume department from the show and the pictures are from season 1 (she appeared as guest star in season 2), I will assume she is standing in the background as an extra and that it really is her. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and I wish you the very best for the New Year!
Thank you Cloudy for posting a link to the DigitalSpy.co.uk review for Merlin season 1. You can read the entire review here.
Alas, the girls did not fare so well on the show. Katie McGrath was wonderful as Morgana, yet was inexplicably underused throughout the series despite her presence markedly boosting the episodes she featured prominently in. After being unveiled as a ’seer’ halfway through the run, full of prophetic visions, one could have expected this to be explored further. So fingers crossed the excellent actress, at her best when standing up to Uther, is given more material next year.
I would also like to wish my visitors a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Wow, wasn’t Colin Morgan excellent in the season finale of Merlin? I think Katie keeps getting better as well, although her part this time was quite small. I captured her part for the gallery. I am sad that this is the last one for now, but a second season in a go for sure now!I am looking forward to it? Feel free to post your comments on the finale here.
Also, please be respectful when using the shoutbox or commenting. This is a fansite visited by fans so please be respectful of that. Thank you!
Katie is in the recent issue of Total Film where she poses dressed up as Satine from Moulin Rouge, which was played by Nicole Kidman. Thank you to razorxrosary for posting the scan at the merlinbbc community and for touching it up nicely. Also, thank you to Alison for for letting me know! I appreciate all of my lovely informants! I put it in the gallery. I am glad that Katie is not going unrecognized!
Anna also informed me that Katie was on the Richard & Judy Show on October 28. If anyone has any images or video from that to donate, or can find any, I would be very glad.
“We put on cabaret music and I just ended up dancing. It was much freer, there’s more movement. Where you’re in fishnets and sequins, you’ve got to have fun with that! Otherwise, you’re just going to look stupid.”
Thank you to Anna for finding this! Katie was featured in the Sunday Herald Salon. Click on the link to read the full article.
“I started to do quite a bit of reading around. I was quite familiar with it all. It didn’t hinder, but it didn’t help either, because we’re doing kind of a re-imagining of, or a prequel to, what we all know. It was good to know where she ended up, but at the same time, because it happens before the legend, it doesn’t have any bearing on it, it doesn’t affect the character as much as you think it would. You’ve got it in the back of your mind that you’re playing this person who’s going to become, you know, this big sorceress, but then you remember that in a way you’re playing a completely different person. It all hasn’t happened yet. As a person you never know where you’ve ended up – does that make sense?” she laughs. “So it didn’t particularly help, but I found it really interesting.”
The same applies to other actresses’ portrayals of Morgana. “It’s hard not to have seen Helen Mirren in Excalibur, and Helena Bonham Carter [in the 1998 TV movie Merlin], but at the same time you don’t want to create something that’s already been done, because I’m neither of them,” she says. “You kind of want to make it your own, so hopefully somebody some day will be asking another actress if they’ve looked at Katie McGrath’s portrayal.”
I finally got around to making more video clips for the site. There are nine new clips from episode 7, “The Gates of Avalon,” in the videos section! There is also a new still from the finale in the gallery.
Hello, everyone. First of all, thank you for the lovely layout comments. Secondly, Anthony Head, who plays King Uther, has confirmed that there will be a second season for Merlin! This is great news. No word yet on when the first season will air in North America, though, but at least we get more Merlin! You can read a small article and watch an interview with Anthony here.
Hello, everyone. As some of you might have noticed, I put up a new layout. Please let me know if there are any problems with it. As much as I liked the last one, I thought that I should do something with magazine photos of Katie and not pictures of Morgana. The site is best viewed with Firefox. There are a few screen captures from this weekend’s episode of Merlin in the gallery as well.
I also forgot to mention the Morgana fanlisting, The King’s Ward. Thank you, Tessa, for letting me know. Please join!
